SOCIAL SATURDAY SET TO SPOTLIGHT 70,000 SOCIAL BUSINESSES
Social Enterprise UK, the lead body supporting social enterprises, and JournoLink, the online PR platform supporting small businesses, have partnered to help social enterprises raise their profile in the media.
With more than 70,000 social enterprises in the country, reinvesting their profits and improving people’s lives in their communities, SEUK and JournoLink are using Social Saturday on the 10th October as the launch pad for a new voice in the world of business.
Melanie Flood, Director of Communications at Social Enterprise UK commented, ‘The passion and commitment that comes with social enterprises is too often overlooked. Social Saturday is positioned to be not just a celebration of the great work that is going on in our communities, but also an awakening of the difference that social enterprises bring to peoples’ lives. We are delighted to be working with JournoLink to help get all the good news stories into the media.’
Gemma Guise, MD of JournoLink, and a recent winner of ‘We Are The City Top 50 Rising Star Awards’, added, ‘None of us should be blind to the real value of social enterprises. They might not be listed in the FTSE 100, but they are so valuable to our real economy, and at JournoLink we are dedicated to showcasing their stories to the journalists covering Social Saturday.’
Social businesses are being encouraged by SEUK to push out their stories, using the platform on the www.socialenterpriseuk.co.uk website, and JournoLink is encouraging journalists interested in content and spokespeople to contact them through the www.journolink.com site.
